Privacy policy
This policy explains how Magicwork Technologies Pvt Ltd ("we") handles personal data on medigini at https://medigini.in, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: your mobile number, or the name, email address and profile picture of the Google account you sign in with.
- Your questions and answers: stored on our server only while you're signed in, so you can see your chat history, saved research and medicine checks. When you sign in, answers already on your screen are added to your history. Questions you ask while signed out aren't stored by us, but they are still sent to the AI provider listed below to write the answer.
- Usage counts: a daily count of searches per account, or per keyed hash of your IP address when you're not signed in, used only for fair-use limits.
- One session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Session details: your browser type and when you signed in, kept for each active session for security and deleted when the session ends.
We don't want patient information. Don't enter patient names, contact details or record numbers.
Why we use it
To sign you in, answer your questions, show your history, apply fair-use limits, keep the service secure and improve answer quality. We process your data with your consent, which you give when you sign in or submit a question. You can withdraw it by deleting your account.
Who processes it for us
- AI provider (currently Anthropic, PBC, USA): every question, whether or not you're signed in, with up to three earlier questions and answers from the same conversation and the retrieved sources, to write the answer. It may also search trusted guideline websites based on your question.
- PubMed (US National Library of Medicine): search terms based on your question, to find studies.
- SMS provider (named here before mobile sign-in is switched on): your mobile number, to deliver the OTP.
- Google: if you choose Google sign-in, once it is switched on.
- Your browser's speech service (for example Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari): only if you use voice search. Your browser turns the audio into text; medigini receives only the text.
- Hosting: Bluehost (Newfold Digital), on a server in Mumbai, India. Our database is stored there.
medigini is a work in progress. We plan to add other AI providers and models; we'll update this list before any new provider receives your questions. Some of these providers process data outside India. We don't sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Account details, chat history and saved research are kept until you delete them or your account. Sign-in codes are deleted within two days and usage counts within 60 days. Database backups are kept for 14 days and then deleted.
Your rights
You can access, correct and erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate someone to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. Delete your account from the account menu, or write to our Grievance Officer.
Grievance Officer
Write to our Grievance Officer at hello@medigini.in. We respond within the time the law requires. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes, and database access is restricted.
Children
medigini is for healthcare professionals and not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
We update the date below whenever this policy changes. While medigini is in beta, how we handle data may change as features are added; we'll update this policy before such changes take effect.
